Monday, 11 October 2010

More than 550 participants from approximately 50 countries participated in the 71st Skål International World Congress, which was held in Sydney from 7-12 October.

During the congress, which was themed “Linking the World Down Under,” Skål International Sunshine Coast was awarded the title of 2010 Skål Club of the Year for the second time.

“We are a small but extremely proactive group of Skålleagues who are working tirelessly toward increasing our membership and informing the Sunshine Coast Tourism industry of the benefits of Skål International,” The Sunshine Coast chapter said in a statement.

“As one of the smaller chapters, we are so excited to be the winner of the Skål International Club of the Year Award again.”

“This is fantastic news for the Club who will be hosting their annual night on Tuesday 26th October.

“The theme for the evening is ‘Hollywood’ and all members of the tourism and travel industry are welcome to attend.

“With ex Sydney Swans player, Ben Mathews as MC there will be lots of entertainment, prizes, guest speakers including newly appointed Sunshine Coast Destination Ltd CEO, Michael Denton and much more.”

Skål delegates have voted for Seoul-Incheon to host the 73rd Annual Skål Congress in October 2012.
