Kuta Karnival Underway in Bali, Indonesia

On Wednesday night the Kuta Karnival was opened by a representative from Indonesia’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism, at Kuta Beach.

[Titin Sukarya, Expert Staff of Indonesia Minister of Culture & Tourism]:
"In line with the theme of Kuta Karnival this year, ‘Heal the World’, the minister of culture and tourism wants to deliver the message: ‘continue to improve services for tourists, by encouraging the creation of a beautiful environment.’"

The Kuta Karnival presents a variety of attractions ranging from music, beach games and a parade, to art shows and culinary culture.

A candlelight procession was held to mark the opening of the event.
In accordance with the carnival theme, a group of spiritual communities lit candles together in an effort to purify the universe by forming letters with candles.

The carnival runs through Sunday.
