Cancer to Capricorn Movie Premiere and Miss Reef Bikini Competition highlight event

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 9 June, 2010 : - - Kuta, Bali -- Reef Indonesia is delighted to announce the Reef Bali Pro 2010, a 6-Star Coca-Cola Indonesian Surfing Championship Tour event that will take place at Padma Beach just north of Kuta Beach in Legian over a 6-day period from the 21st to the 26th of June.

During the competition surfing period, spectators will not only be treated to seeing Indonesia’s top surfers going mental at Padma Beach in hopes of nabbing the top spot on the podium on Saturday afternoon and coming home with the first place prize money of Rp 12,500,000 (USD 1,350), there will also be expression sessions by Reef International pro surfers including Jay “Bottle” Thompson, Nick Rosza, Ross Williams, Mike Losness, Paul Fisher, and Adam Bennetts during each day of competition.

In addition to the exciting surfing action on the beach over the 6 day period, the long awaited premiere of the much anticipated Reef surfing film “Cancer to Capricorn” will launch at the Center Stage of the Hard Rock Hotel on Friday night June 25th from 7 to 9 pm.

The Reef International surfers are stoked to be coming to Bali, not only to surf but also to show off their new film. “It's so great for Reef to be doing a ‘Cancer to Capricorn’ premiere in Bali. We have just come off a super sick US tour with international stops of Australia and Panama, so to finish it up in a killer destination like Bali that's holds the world's best surf is like icing on the cake,” said Jay “Bottle” Thompson. “Bali…. the Reef Team is coming and we can’t wait!”

And no Reef event would ever be considered without a Miss Reef competition, so immediately following the Cancer to Capricorn movie premiere the evening’s fun will continue at the Hard Rock Café with the Miss Reef Bikini Contest semifinals. The finest of the fine will line up to show off their best assets in hopes of winning a spot in the final that will take place at the huge party on Kuta Beach on Saturday the 26th, and ultimately being crowned Miss Reef.

The grand finale will go off on the sands of Halfway Beach in Kuta Saturday afternoon at 3 pm, beginning with a final expression session by the Reef International team riders showing off their most radical and explosive surfing. The Miss Reef Bikini final will follow, with the winner receiving Rp 10,000,000 (USD 1, 100), a Kawasaki motorcycle, Tom Ford sunglasses, two nights stay at the Hard Rock, and Reef goodies. The runner up will get Rp 5,000,000 (USD 550), Fendi sunglasses and Reef goodies, and the crowd favorite will come home with Rp 2,500,000 (USD 225), Calvin Klein sunglasses and Reef goodies.

Finally, the Reef Bali Pro finalists will take to the stage for their awards presentation and to accept their trophies and cash, after which the exciting lineup of live music by RockStars (a collaboration band from Jakarta which consists of Andi /rif, Aryo –Dance Company, Ovy /rif, Bondan Prakoso, Enno –netral, Beng-beng –Pas Band) and Bali’s own superstars Superman is Dead will rock the crowd at Kuta Beach far into the night.

Reef Indonesia Manager Wiwin Hutson is very excited about this year’s event, stating “It’s been five years since the last Reef surf competition and Miss Reef contest, and people kept asking when we would do it again. This year with the Cancer to Capricorn release and the great support of our sponsors, everything came together just perfect to make it happen.”
